Last Thursday, on a rainy night, some miracle happened at Little Asia, Morato. There it was... slowly forming..... mutating in a once recognized object..... by 9pm.... it was complete..... well almost complete...... (nobody had the guts to call the other one,
hehehe)..... the Sweet City Boopers is alive again, BWAHAHAHAHA.
Thomas was in town for a week, but purely business, so it was only then that he had some free time to be with old friends. I called up Leonard (Tox) and Anthony (Tonet), Pete called up Islaw and there it was, the group feared by everybody in high school, (maybe because of islaw, hehehe)
I pick Little Asia as our place for dinner, kasi may variety, tsaka pwede mag-yosi sa 2nd floor(smokers lahat eh, hehehe) There was a lot of catching up, halos di na kami kumain sa kaka-kwento. about past kalokohan, business, family, kids, etc.
What surprised us was Tonet, whom we didnt see for maybe 15 to 18 years. He is now in Sta Cruz, Laguna, minding a grocery business, already with 3 kids, the eldest is around 5 yrs old, 2 boys and a girl. And when you look at the pics, you can see that he didnt change a bit, even his manner of talking, his built, everything. He was the last one to arrive coz he came all the way from Laguna, imagine driving 2 1/2 hrs.
Grabe sa kwentuhan, walang katapusan, kaya we decided to go to IO, kasi ang ingay na namin sa Little Asia, Leonard paid for dinner, kasi sobrang saya sya, and he now owns 6 red ribbons, mostly in the south area (Las Pinas, Sucat, etc.)
Pag dating naim sa IO, nag umpisa na ng gulo, we started with our national anthem, State of the Nation, tapos pakitaan pa ng mga dance steps. then proceeded with songs from the 80's, flock of seagulls, seona dancing, psychedelic furs, etc, etc. biglang sisingitan ng barry manilow, o kaya apo hiking society, while singing "san na nga
bang barkada ngayon" medyo naging nostalgic pa kami at naghanapan ng
mga lumang kasamahan. Tapos, the funniest thing that night at IO is itong si tonet, imagine, rocker na sya, bigla syang babanat ng kanta ng Bamboo, Rivermaya, etc, tapos mag air-guitar pa, feeling nya bata pa sya. kakatuwa. Kaso di pa rin nawawala ung new wave na sayaw, banatan pa din ng mga lumang sayaw, from "ghost in you" to "talking in your sleep".
We left early, mga 2am ata un, bitin na bitin pa nga, but it was fun and heartwarming kasi sarap pa din sila kasama, kahit matagal na di nagkikita, pareho pa din ugali, mga makukulit pa din.
